I am the owner of the shoppe at Shady Gables Tea Room and Gift Gallery. I opened Shady Gables in August of 2000, in my 13 room Victorian House. I love tea, spending time with my friends and family, traveling, home decorating, crafts and gardening. I have established this blog as a way to keep all my friends posted on what I am up to... join me!
Versailles celebrated our 30th annual Olde Tyme Apple Festival this past weekend. Some say it was the largest ever! We had a beautiful, sunny day. This year Shady Gables sponsored a horse and surrey driven by 12 year old Alli Lents. What a doll! Her horse won first place in the harness horse category. We are so proud of her! Our friends Matty and Rachel rode in the surrey, dressed all in their Victorian finery. They smiled, waved and tossed candy. Juli is pictured here displaying her prized pumpkin teapots! She and her daddy created them from real pumpkins and used grapevines for the spout and handle - so cute! Miss Ashley made it home for a few hours to help me out with a special project, she looked so cute in her new beret. I purchased the hat for her at our new favorite shop, Curious Sofa, in Prairie Village Kansas. Take a look at their website... www.curioussofa.com This great shop has been featured in many national magazines. Make sure you visit the shop, its magical and the staff is so kind and friendly! We are busy resetting the shop for fall, lots of new products in stock and a few surprise changes. Hope to see you soon!
What fun Reba!! Thanks for the referral in KC...I LOVE KC! The next time you head that way...call us; Miss Spenser and I would love to meet you there! We could have Afternoon tea at the Continental!
Yes, those pumpkin teapots are cute. A little taste of the vineyard and pumpkin patch for tea. Perfect for the season of harvest. --Spirituality of Tea
