Visitors from Near and Far

I am always amazed at how many visitors we have at Shady Gables who are from another state or another country. Many people who live within an hour or two of our tea room like to come and treat their out of town guests to tea. We have had visitors from nearly every state. I should have recorded them all.... The foreign countries that have been represented at our tiny little tea room in our tiny little rural Mid Missouri town are... Turkey, Russia, England, Germany, Japan, Malaysia, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Israel... I think that's all of them! I am very humbled and honored that visitors choose to spend an afternoon with us!

Three generations of Tea Lovers! The Grandmother lives near Jefferson City Missouri, but her daughter and granddaughter were visiting from Alaska. They say they will make Teatime at Shady Gables a tradition on their annual trip from Alaska. I hope they do. It will be a joy to watch another young lady grow up over the years...


Carolyn lives near by, but her friend travels about 4 and a half hours one way to meet her for tea at Shady Gables. It is so heartwarming to see such devoted friends. They love Hatties room and we are glad to reserve it for them, we know they have lots of "catching up" to do. I enjoy handpainting my teapot shaped sugar cookies for my guests and Carolyn had a special request today... She asked me to paint the words "Celebrating Friendship" I can't think of a better way to express the bond betweeen these two exceptional ladies...
